How to check Website Lost Backlink in Ahrefs | Link Reclamation

The process of regaining lost links is known as Link Reclamation. You had a hyperlink. you blew it. You will want it back. As a result, you take steps to reclaim it.

It depends on what caused you to lose the link in the first place.

The following are four common causes of connection loss:

1. Your link has been removed from the connecting page by the author.
2. The linked page is no longer available (404 error);
3. The connected page is redirected (301).
4. Google no longer indexes the connecting page.

Find Lost Links with Site Explorer
1. Go to Site Explorer
2. Enter your domain
3. Go to the Backlinks section
4. Find the Lost Backlinks

Sometimes a link is marked as "Lost" even though it is still visible on a website.

There are numerous plausible explanations for this:

1. The domain banned our crawler;
2. When our crawler started crawling the site, it encountered problems and returned an error.
3. The page has been converted to HTTPS.
4. The page was no longer canonical;
5. The page is now redirected to a slightly modified URL. Please keep in mind that URLs with and without www are treated differently. The same is true for URLs with and without a "/" at the end.
6. It was a JavaScript link, and the page isn't popular enough to render it.
7. The link was modified to point to a slightly different page target (for example, from non-www to www).
